Welcome to our adventure
We are a team of 7 climbers from Utah who are embarking on the trek of a lifetime. Its a dream to so many, and so hard to obtain. As the climb to Everest Base Camp approaches, feel free to come visit us on this website for updates. As we realize we are each individually accomplished in our own fields, we want to leave a lasting positive effect as we go on this journey. It is our hope that we will be able to provide school supplies, medical supplies, possible education equipment to the schools in the Kumbu area, Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of north-eastern Nepal. We are accepting donations both financial and material to this cause (Please see contact page). In addition, as we travel we will be communicating with classrooms across northern Utah and the Galion, Ohio school district via web-presence and trending phone links, as available, in order to give students of all ages a first hand experience of the world.
We are quite a collection of people from across the Wasach Front here in Utah, all embarking on a dream...
...and all with a goal of helping others in need and to enlighten youth of all ages!

How to donate
We are currently working on several relief projects to supply much needed school and basic medical supplies in and around the Lukla area of Nepal. We have hopes of funding higher end items such as computers, laptops, projectors, if at all possible. Any donation would be greatly appreciated!

who we are...
Jodi Rood (Team Leader): My wise mother instilled within me at a young age, a love for the outdoors and a passion for adventure. As a result, I water ski, snow ski, enjoy hiking, backpacking in the wilderness and rock climbing. I mountain bike, have completed 6 Century rides, 3 triathlons and Rim to Rim of the Grand Canyon twice. I have sat on the base blocks of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt (it was allowed in 1982) and traveled the European country side. During my first trip to Nepal I realized I had found my second home and visited often. In 2004 I returned with the intent of living there for a year. After 4 months’ political unrest motivated me to finish my final 8 months in India.
My love for teaching and sharing the joy of physical fitness lead me to 5 years of gymnastic coaching and 6 years as a personal trainer. The business side of me was expressed in being an account rep. for 7 yrs. Throughout all of this I have enjoyed 40 years of working behind the scenes in live theatre as a wardrobe assistant.
My greatest loves are my 4 wonderful boys, daughter-in-laws, and the joyful addition of 6 grandchildren. All of whom I have shared my passions and loves with, just as my Mother did with me.
Scott Palmer: . Retired Air Force with 419th Fighter Wing, and former Navy (Radar & Flight Simulators) & Air National Guard, with KC135s. 25 year teacher/administrator with Weber School District specializing in technology and engineering. Avid disk golf player, backpacker & peak bagger, and snow shoeing. Recent Gold/Silver medalist in swimming (World Senior Games), Professional Opera Singer with Utah Opera (21 seasons and counting). Dozens of summits with son Will, including, Kings peak (13,527), Ben Lomond, Lewis, Gilbert, Gunsight, Mt. Ogden, Phifferhorn, Nebo, Frary peak (Antelope Island), Spread Eagle peak, and many more... Just last summer my son and I hopped on our mountain bikes and rode from the top of Pikes Peak (14,115) Colorado, to the valley floor.
Excited for this trek of a lifetime and the chance to bring support to the students and citizens of Nepal and to bring the history and pure majestic beauty, both of Nepal's people and its mountains, to classrooms everywhere.
Kerry Robbins: Married to my sweetheart Becky for 46 years. Three awesome sons with six precious grandchildren. Active in church callings and community service. 8 years with Utah DOT roadway engineering department. 30 years civil service with the 419 Fighter Wing. Retired Chief Master Sergeant with 40 years in the Air Force Reserves 419FW. Recently finished 12 LOTOJA bike races, 1st, 2nd,3rd place finishes. Enjoy anything on bikes, windsurfing, water skiing, alpine and AT skiing, climbing rock, ice and reaching summits from the lower 48, Alaska to Turkey. Reaching the summit of Denali has been the richest of these experiences.
Currently work part time for Peterson Builders in Ogden Valley and best of all spending time with my grandchildren. Look forward to the potential this may bring for increased education and outreach opportunities for the people of this region.
